I feel that Steve Harvey’s assesment of men and women is correct to an extent. It hits the basic wants, needs, and expectations of how we feel as men. The book also sheds light on how females look at us from their perspective, the only thing I don’t agree with about the book is that it’ll make females think they know how every man operates which can lead to a quick downfall early on in the relationship. I do feel that the book is appropriate for college level students, when you reach college there is a certain minimal level of maturity that you should have reached and I think most students have met it. So this book should be able to be discussed by college students without conflict.

4. In 250 words minimum (Im counting), how do you feel about Steve Harvey's notion that when a man loves a woman that he will provide for her. What does Harvey mean by provide? Would you provide for your mate or want to be provided for? Does the term gold-digger apply to women that like to be provided for?

I agree with Steve Harvey's notion that when a man loves a woman he will provide for her, but only to a certain extent. As men we are supposed to breadwinners of the household and provide for our family, but there is a line between providing for a woman and spoiling your woman. Providing for her consists of covering basic necessities, not conforming to her wants it's important to focus on the needs not wants. I think when you enter a relationship providing for your mate is a 50/50 thing, and both partners should meet each other halfway. Stress falling on a partner to provide for the other without receiving can open the door for unwanted turmoil in a relationship, so in my opinion the level of providing should be equal with minimal or no piggy backing. The term gold-digger can't be applied for all women that like to be provided for, sometimes you have to face reality and some females are just flat out lazy! A gold digger is a woman who's main interest is material benefit, her main concern is the bank account. and not the man. So you can have a woman that likes to be provided for and makes up for it in other areas as opposed to the one who sits on here behind all day and calls on you for here every little financial need and wants, so the title of gold digger should be carefully applied wouldn't want to step on any toes.
